Очень толстый металл 3 мм. Барашек тоже массивный и металлический. Шкала гравирована лазером. Ноль нониуса и шкалы линейки не совпадают (у меня на -0,2 мм), но это не проблема и если нужно, то легко лечится на наждаке. Я убирать не стал, так как меня это устраивает. Линия от карандаша или чертилки всегда получается дальше от торца линейки и как раз две десятки нивелирует это расстояние. Углы забиты, но на работу это никак не влияет.
